Centre for Humanities and Social Sciences

The Centre for Humanities and Social Sciences, NLUJAA is a platform that is dedicated to interdisciplinary learning, critical inquiry and intellectual engagement. It seeks to foster dialogue across disciplines such as History, Political Science, Sociology, Literature, Philosophy, and related fields. These fields offer invaluable perspectives that complement legal education, fostering a more holistic understanding of law in its economic, societal, historical and ethical concepts. Being based in the North-eastern region of the country which is a hub of myriad cultural heritages, the Centre hopes to undertake field researches by including new sources and discourses to contribute towards the knowledge diversity.

Objectives

The Centre aims to encourage research, debates, seminars, workshops, and cultural activities that address contemporary social issues while grounding discussions in historical and theoretical perspectives. It provides students and faculty with opportunities to engage in meaningful academic exchange, develop analytical skills, and cultivate social awareness.
