The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of NLU Assam in collaboration with Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, Guwahati organised a 'Blood Donation Camp' at Seminar Hall, NLUJA, Assam.

The National Service Scheme unit of NLUJA was established in 2019 post a capacity building of youth on leadership and personality development through life skills organized by Government of India Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports Regional Directorate of NSS, Guwahati from 18th to 22nd November 2019 which was attended by the core committee members and Faculty-in-Charge, Dr. Mayengbam Nandakishwor Singh. Ever since, the unit has been regularly conducting activities to engage the student fraternity in consonance with NSS motto “Not Me But You”, which reflects the essence of democratic living and upholds the need for self-less service. Towards this end, every member of the NLUJA NSS unit strives live unto the motto in the everyday life and conduct through objectives of NSS:
i. Understand the community in which they work
ii. Understand themselves in relation to their community
iii. Identify the needs and problems of the community and involve them in problem- solving
iv. Develop among themselves a sense of social and civic responsibility
v. Utilize their knowledge in finding practical solutions to individual and community problems
vi. Develop competence required for group-living and sharing of responsibilities
vii. Gain skills in mobilizing community participation
viii. Acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitudes
ix. Develop capacity to meet emergencies and natural disasters
x. Practice national integration and social harmony

Activities and Events
The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of NLUJA, Assam organised a remarkable cleaning drive at the revered Shri Doul Gobindo Mandir, located on the foothills of Chandra Bharati hill at Rajaduat, North Guwahati.
As part of Swachhata Pakhwada-Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2023, a massive cleanliness drive as envisaged by Govt. of India, was organised on 1st October, 2023 at Hayagrive Madhab Temple Campus, Hajo as a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on the eve of his birth anniversary on 2nd October, 2023.
World Wildlife Fund (WWF) in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of NLUJA, Assam and Centre for Environmental Law, Advocacy & Research (CELAR), NLUJA, Assam organised Tree Plantation Drive to commemorate World Environment Day.
In celebration of the International Day for Biodiversity, the NSS Unit of the National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam organized a Biodiversity Tour in collaboration with the World Wide Fund for Wildlife (WWF).
