The team of Kunal Kalita (Batch of 2026) and Aroni Swami (Batch of 2026) have finished as the 1st Runners-up in the All Assam Inter Institutional Quiz organised by University Law College, Gauhati University.

Best Speaker -12th RCL Moot Court Competition

Mr. Dhruv Vashisht (Class of 2028), was awarded the Best Speaker title at the 12th RCL Moot Court Competition, held on October 19th-20th. This Team which included Mr. Rishav Srivastava (Class of 2028) and Mr. Priyansh Kanawat (Class of 2028), reached semi finals.

Achievers - Colossus 2023, HNLU

At the Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur Fest Colossus 2023, students from National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam, showcased outstanding performances across various sports. In Table Tennis, Mr. Kaushik Das earned a Silver in Men's Doubles, while Mr. Priyansh Kanawat contributed with a Silver in both Men's Doubles and Mixed Doubles. Ms. Bedashmrita Prashar and Ms. Ananya Saxena claimed Gold in Women's Doubles Table Tennis, with Ms. Bedashmrita also winning Silver in Mixed Doubles. In badminton, Mr. Debangan Das and Ms. Joyce Rongmei clinched Gold in Mixed Doubles, while Ms. Drishti Chetia added a Silver in the same category. Carrom saw strong finishes from Ms. Sanchayeeta Karmakar and Ms. Jiniya Boro, both winning Silver. Mr. Mukdraksh Medhi excelled in e-sports, taking home the Gold in FIFA. On the track, Ms. Ananya Saxena won Silver in the 400m race, with Mr. Debasish Hazarika and Mr. Hrishikesh Nath contributing Bronze in the 1500m and 400m, respectively. Mr. Hrishikesh also joined Mr. Kaushik Das, Mr. Himanshu Gupta, and Mr. Adarsh Gogoi in securing Bronze in the relay events. Mr. Himanshu Gupta won another Bronze in the 800m, and Mr. Adarsh Gogoi added to the tally with a Bronze in the 200m.

Special Mention - VSLLS Youth Parliament

Saksham Patiyar of Batch of 2028 had participated in VSLLS Youth Parliament held on May 02-03. He was awarded with the recognition of Special Mention for representing Sh. Arjun Ram Meghwal in All India Political Parties Meet.

Best Team - Dr. Rohini Kanta Barouh Memorial N.M.C.C.

The team consisting of Maahi Agarwal (Batch of 2026), Rishika Sharma (Batch of 2026), and Debarathi Chattopadhyay (Batch of 2027) has been recognized as the Best Team in the Dr. Rohini Kanta Barouh Memorial National Moot Court Competition. Additionally, the team also received the Best Memorial award, and Rishika Sharma was honored as the Best Mooter in the same competition.

Gold Medals - 20th Asian Jump Rope Championship

Pranabjyoti Biswas (Batch of 2026) has recently bagged two gold medals for the state of Assam in senior category in the recently held 20th Asian Jump Rope Championship. He bagged the medals in both Double-dutch freestyle and Double Under Relay categories. His overall ranking in the All-India Senior Position was first. Additionally, due to his outstanding performance he has also been selected to represent India for the upcoming Asian games to be conducted in Japan.

High Commendation Award - Model United Nations, Alcheringa - IIT, Guwahati

The team comprising Maahi Agarwal (Batch of 2026), Mohammad Danish Faraz (Batch of 2024) & Rahul Bora (Batch of 2025) has emerged as the First Runner-up in the 3rd International Mediation Competition hosted by KLE College, Thiruvananthapuram.

High Commendation Award - Model United Nations, Alcheringa - IIT, Guwahati

Mr. Saksham Patiyar (Batch 2023-28) has been awarded with High Commendation at Model United Nations hosted by Alcheringa - IIT, Guwahati.

Best Memorial Award - VI TNNLU NMAC competition

The team comprising Madhurjya Pathak (Batch of 2028), Debangshu Das (Batch of 2028) & Abhigyan Gogoi (Batch of 2028) won the Best Memorial award in the VI TNNLU NMAC competition.

High Commendation Award - B.R.S.A.B. Vajpayee 2nd National Youth Parliament

Saksham Patiyar (Batch of 2028) has been awarded the High Commendation in the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee 2nd National Youth Parliament conducted by Maharashtra National Law University, Aurangabad representing Shri. Nitin Gadkari in the Lok Sabha.

Palkhivala Memorial Quiz Competition organised by West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences in collaboration with Nani A. Palkhivala Memorial Trust and supported by the Tata Group.

Team of Kunal Kalita (Batch of 2026) and Aroni Swami (Batch of 2026) have finished as the 1st Runners-up in the Bharat Prashnam Quiz organised under the aegis of the India Mega Trade Show. The theme of the quiz was drug free youth.

Ramendra Singh and Gaurav Raj from the Batch of 2024 have been adjourned as Second Runners Up in the Inqube 23, National level Business Themed Quiz Competition organised by Shiv Nadar University, Greater Noida.

Satish Chandra Chitrapu (Batch of 2026) has been adjudged as the Runners Up and Finalist as a Mediator in the 1st Legal Lock National Mediation Competition organised by The Legal Lock held on 16th & 17th September, 2023.

Second Runners-Up - HSF-NLU Delhi Negotiation Competition

The team comprising Shrey Goyal (Batch of 2024) and Hrishikesh Reddy Kothwal (Batch of 2025), representing NLUJAA were adjudged as the Second Runners-Up and Semi-Finalist, at the prestigious 8th edition of the HSF-NLU Delhi Negotiation Competition. The same saw participation from countries like Singapore, Japan, Australia, and the UK. Additionally, the team was ranked 2nd amongst 32 participating teams from across the world for the Preliminary Rounds

Gold Medal -19th Senior National Jump Rope Championship 2022-23

Mr. Pranabjyoti Biswas won the Gold Medal in Single Rope Speed Endurance at 19th Senior National Jump Rope Championship 2022-23 organised by Madhya Pradesh Jump Rope Association held at Saraswati Shishu Mandir, rishi Nagar, Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh from May 22, 2023 to May 24, 2023.

Shalin Bukalsaria (Batch of 2025) bagged the Best Researcher Award in the 2nd AIU National Moot Court Competition, 2023 organised by Sister Nivedita University and The W.B. National University of Juridical Sciences under the aegis of the Association of Indian Universities

Winner - Ladas Memorial Award 2023

Akansha Sharma bagged the winners position under the Student Category at the Ladas Memorial Award 2023 organised by the International Trademark Association. Title of paper was The Notorious Tale of Trivandrum- Tracing the Evolution of the Enigma of Religion Against the Backdrop of Trademarks in India. The Trademark Reporter (TMR) will consider this paper for publication.

Best Memorial Award - ILNU Antitrust Moot Court Competition, 2023

The team comprising of Satyam Jain (Batch of 2026), Rudrakshi Rai (Batch of 2026) and Rohit Yadav (Batch of 2026) bagged the Best Memorial Award from the Appellant Side in the XII ILNU Antitrust Moot Court Competition, 2023 organised by the Nirma University, Ahmedabad.

Octafinalist -5th Surana & Surana and K. L.E. Law College National Constitutional Moot Court Competition

The team comprising of Niyor Ghatowar (Batch of 2026), Prosfutita Singha (Batch of 2026) and Richa Ayengia (Batch of 2026) reached the Octafinals Rounds in the 5th Surana & Surana and K. L.E. Law College National Constitutional Moot Court Competition.

Best Memorial - 4th National Mediation Arbitration Competition, TNNLU

The team comprising Md. Danish Faraz (Batch of 2024) and Ramendra Singh Sengar (Batch of 2024) secured the Semi-Finalists position in the 4th National Mediation Arbitration Competition organised by Tamil Nadu National Law University.

Best Memorial - 10th edition of the RGNUL Moot Court Competition , 2022

The team comprising Kanishk Sinha (Batch of 2023), Swarna (Batch of 2023) and Tejashwini Mallick secured the Octa Finalists position in the 10th edition of the RGNUL Moot Court Competition , 2022. Additionally, Tejashwini Mallick (Batch of 2024) bagged the Best Researcher award in the competition.

The team comprising Ananya Saxena (Batch of 2026), Urvi Sharma (Batch of 2026) and Satyam Kumar (Batch of 2026) secured the Semi-Finalists position in the 16th Professor S. P. Sathe International Moot Court Competition, 2022.

The team comprising Sankalp Shandilya (Batch of 2026) and Rudrakshi Rai (Batch of 2026) secured the Octa-Finalists position in the 14th RGNUL Sports and Entertainment Law Mediation Competition organised by Rajiv Gandhi National Law University.

The team comprising Ian Xavier Pereira (Batch of 2026), Ravi Rajpurohit (Batch of 2026) and Kartik Gupta (Batch of 2026) secured the Quarter-Finalists position in the 12th CCI HNLU Justice Hidayatullah National Moot Court Competition, 2022.

Best Memorial - K. K. Luthra Memorial Moot Court, 2022

The team comprising Disha Mohanty (Batch of 2024), Abhishek Srivastava (Batch of 2024) and Muskan Patodia (Batch of 2024) secured the Octa-Finalists position in the 18th edition of the KK Luthra Moot Court Competition, 2022.

Best Memorial - Virtual National Moot Court Competition

The team comprising Rajpratim Kakoti (Batch of 2025), Ravishta Das (Batch of 2025) and Rahul Bora (Batch of 2025) bagged the Best Memorial award in the Virtual National Moot Court Competition organised by Symbiosis Law School, Nagpur in collaboration with Maharashtra State Biodiversity Board.- 7th December, 2021.

Best Negotiation Plan - 1st International UILS Negotiation Competition

The team comprising Surya Prabhat Pali (Batch of 2022) and Arnav Awasthi (Batch of 2025) bagged the prize for the 'Best Negotiation Plan' in the 1st International UILS Negotiation Competition, 2021 organised by UILS, Punjab University.- 14th November, 2021

The team comprising Aashana Agarwal (Batch of 2022) and Mranal Sharma (Batch of 2022) bagged the Third Best Team award in the Moot Court Competition organised on Legal Services Day at JB Law College, Guwahati (organised by The Assam State Legal Services Authority). Girl Power reignsat MoEF&CC’s International Day for Biodiversity Short Paper Competition 2021

The International Day for Biodiversity is Celebrated Every Year On 22nd May. This Year the Theme of the eventwas ‘We are Part of the Solution’. A Short Paper Writing Competition was conducted as part of thecelebration. The participants were required to complement the theme of the event and this year all top three winners are the students and alumnus of National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam:

First Place- Ms. Tejaswini Mishra (LL.M) - Ms. Mishra’s short paper was on theprojections of Bioprospecting in India. The paper highlighted the Indian legal aspects of the bioprospecting in the light of Convention on Biodiversity.

Second Place- Ms. Ananya Gogoi (3rd Year, B.A.LL.B)- Ms. Gogoi’s paper was on Deepor Beel - Need for Active Conservation. Her paper portrayed the escalating pressure on this Ramsar site due to several infrastructural and commercial developments thereby threatening this fragile ecosystem. She strongly advocated, augmenting the community role in tackling unedifying environmental issues such as this by taking small steps to further contribute to a greater cause.

Third Place- Ms. Titikhya Barkataki, (Alumnus, Batch of 2020)- Ms. Barkataki’s paper emphasized upon the Essence of Rich Medicinal Plantation of Assam and its Conservation as a part of Traditional Knowledge and Practice.

National Commission for Women sponsored Quiz on Rights of the Women and Children: Under the aegis of the National Commission for Women, the Committee had organised a quiz competition on Rights of Women and Children on November 18, 2017 in the Academic Block, NLUJAA. The Quiz Master for the event was Tathagat Sharma of 3rd year. There were around 40 Questions in the Quiz were Vaibhav Shukla and Pranoy Goswami and Anshuman Pandey and Brijbhan Singh Rajawat finished runners up. There were also 5 other runners up. Cash prizes were awarded to all the 7 teams.

NLU, ASSAM MOOT COURT TEAM SECURED 4TH POSITION AT THE LEGULEIAN 2016, Moot Court Competition

The National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam (NLUJAA) moot court team comprising of Mr. Mohit Singh, Ms. Manavi Joshi, Ms. Divya Sharma (3rd year students of B.A.,LL.B (Hons.)) participated at the LEGULEIAN 2016, Moot Court Competition organized by University Law College, Gauhati University, Guwahati on September 14, 2016. The team secured 4th position in the competition.

Also, Ms. Manavi Joshi was declared as the " Best Pleader" in the competition.

The National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam (NLUJAA) moot court team comprising of Ms. Nidhi Gupta, Ms. Ritisha Rajkhowa and Ritu Singh (4th year students of B.A.,LL.B (Hons.)) participated at 4th KIIT National Moot Court Competition, 2016 organized by School of Law, KIIT University in collaboration with J. Sagar Associates on September 14 2016. This Moot Court Competetion witnessed participation from 57 Law Schools/Universities, and the NLUJAA Team bagged the 'Best Memorial Award' with a cash prize of Rs. 10,000.

Raman Virk and Mr. Suyash Pranay Tripathi (3rd year students of B.A.,LL.B (Hons.) participated at the Surana and Surana National Trial Advocacy Moot Court Competition along with Surana and Surana National Judgment Writing Competition (West Rounds), organized by Surana and SuranaSurana & Surana International Attorneys and Bharati Vidyapeeth University, Pune from 18th – 20th September 2015. 20 teams participated in the Competition. The team from NLUJAA was adjudged  Second Runners Up in the Judgment Writing Competition.

Mr. Pranav Bhardwaj, 2nd Year B.A.,LL.B. (Hons.) was awarded as Runner-Up at "Hackathon" held as a part of "Make in India" event from February 10 - 16, 2016 at IIT Bombay. The event had called for the ideas for finding innovative solution for urban design problem and contributing towards Smart Cities.

The Moot court team comprising of Ms. Dipali rai, Mr. Saptarshi Das and Mr. Shashank Pathak (5th year students of B.A.,LL.B (Hons.) participated at the 2nd IIT Kharagpur National Moot Court Competition, 2015 organised by Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law (RGSOIPL), IIT Kharagpur from 6th – 8th November 2015. 30 teams had participated at this competition and out of them Mr. Shashank Pathak was awarded the Best Researcher award.

NLU, ASSAM MOOT COURT TEAM WINS THE 4TH INTERNATIONAL BANKING AND INVESTMENT LAW (IBAIL) MOOT COURT COMPETITION 2015

The National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam (NLUJAA) moot court team consisting of Subornodeep Bhattacharjee, Utkarsh Kumar (IIIrd Year) and Khushboo Vasandani (IInd  Year) represented NLUJAA at the 4th International Banking and Investment Law (IBAIL) Moot Court Competition 2015. The event was organized by Seedling School of Law and Governance, Jaipur National University in Jaipur, Rajasthan from 9th to 11th October 2015. This Moot Court competition witnessed participation from 50 Law Schools/Law Universities, and the NLUJAA team emerged as the Winners. The team has been awarded with a cash prize of Rs.25,000/- and Mr. Subornodeep Bhattacharjee is awarded the Best Advocate at this moot court competition.

The moot court team consisting of Sandeep Jain, Sudarshan Gupta (IIIrd Year) and Toshali Pattnaik (IInd Year) represented NLUJAA at the 3rd KIIT University Moot Court Competition 2015. The event was organized by School of Law, KIIT University in Bhubaneswar, Orissa from 18th to 20th September 2015. This Moot Court competition witnessed participation from 46 Law Schools/Law Universities, and the NLUJAA team emerged as the 2nd Runners – Up with a cash prize of Rs.25,000/-.

The moot court team consisting of Himani Dutta, Ipshita Bhattacharyya and Sujeet Kumar (IIIrd Year) represented 5th FYLC-Ranka National Moot Court Competition 2015. The event was organized by University Five Year Law College, University of Rajasthan in collaboration with Ranka Public Charitable Trust in Jaipur, Rajasthan, Orissa from 26th to 28th September 2015. This Moot Court competition witnessed participation from 48 Law Schools/Law Universities, and the NLUJAA team emerged as the 2nd Runners – Up.

Mr. Rajesh Harlalka, 3rd Year and Ms. Filzah Belal, 1st Year, B.A.,LL.B. (Hons.) took part in the IIT Guwahati Model United Nations Conference held from September 4 to 6, 2015 and delibrated on “Privatisation of War: Formulating Protocols for Hiring PMCs”. Ms. Filzah Belal won a High Commendation and Mr. Rajesh Harlalka won a Special Mention in the conference.

Abhishek Yadav, a student of Seventh (7th) Semester was selected as an Executive Board Member of DISEC, Model United Nations Conference held at Tec iche IIT Guwahati from 5-7 th September 2014. He was felicitated by His Excellency The Maharaja of Tripura Pradyot Bikram Manikya Deb Barma and the Swedish Ambassador to India.

NLUJAA STUDENT BAGS 2ND BEST PAPER PRESENTER AWARD AT A NATIONAL CONCLAVE AND SEMINAR IN JAMIA MILIA ISLAMIA UNIVERSITY, NEW DELHI

Anoosh S. Panwar, studying in B.A.,LL.B.(Hons.) Sixth Semester, was adjudged the 2nd Best Paper Presenter at a National Conclave and Seminar on RECENT AMENDMENTS AND DEVELOPMENTS IN CORPORATE LAW AND CODIFICATION OF SEXUAL HARASSMENT AT WORKPLACE: AN INDUSTRY INSTITUTE INTERACTION organized by the Internship and Placement Committee, Faculty of Law, Jamia Milia Islamia University, New Delhi on 20th April, 2014. Her paper was titled: “Understanding Sexual Harassment at the Workplace: An analysis of power dynamics”.

The team comprising Sukanya Gogoi, Mita Rajmohan and Kaustav Debbarma, students of the Third year B.A., LL.B.(Hons.), represented the National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam in the Justice P.B. Sawant First National Moot Court Competition, 2014 organised by Marathwada Mitra Mandal’s Shankarrao Chavan Law College, Pune. They bagged the Best Memorial as well as the First Runners up Trophy in the Moot Competition in which thirty-five teams participated.

Two students of the NATIONAL LAW UNIVERSITY AND JUDICIAL ACADEMY, ASSAM, Shehnaz Aziz of Second Year B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) and Shivani Dutta of Second Year LL.M., were selected out of a hundred meritorious students from all over the country to witness the Republic Day celebrations from the Prime Minister’s Box in New Delhi this year.

Prof. R. P. Anand scholarship for Tilu Linggi, Final Year LL.M. Student of NLUJAA

Tilu Linggi, a student of Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam, who basically hails from a small town, Roing in Arunachal Pradesh, has been selected as the proud recipient of the 2014 RP Anand Scholarship alongwith another student from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore. The scholarship, valued at Rs 60,000 is aimed at providing financial assistance to the students pursuing their Post Graduate studies in International Law intensely scrutinized by a panel of the Virtual Centre of International Law (VCIL) and is accompanied by a certificate along with some books written by the Late Prof. R.P. Anand.

The RP Anand Scholarship was founded by the RP Anand Virtual Centre of International Law (VCIL). The creation of the RP Anand VCIL is inspired by the life, teachings and writings of the Late Prof. R.P. Anand. He was one of the pioneers of the Third World Approaches to International Law (TWAIL), and is widely recognized and respected as a spokesman of the Third World views on the subject. Prof. Anand was the President of the prestigious Indian Society of International Law and also a Vice President of the Asian Society of International Law.
