Profile

Alumnus of National Law School of India University Bangalore, Dr. Poddar held faculty position in several premier institutions including two premier National Law Universities; in Jodhpur and Ranchi respectively. Before joining National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam, he held the position of Dean and thereby introduced Xavier Law School- a constituent unit of St. Xavier’s University Kolkata- as its founding Dean.

Law apart, he has had disciplinary training in diversified domains to his credit; followed by his research interest in cross-disciplinary domains appurtenant to Law, e.g., legal history, law and literature, law and economics, philosophy of Law, sociology of law, public policy analysis, etc., to name a few among them.

Dr. Poddar was awarded the ITC-ILO Fellowship for his academic visit to Turin in the Italian Republic for training in International Labour Laws. He has had training in Intellectual Property Laws certified by the WIPO Academy. Also, he has had training in Global Career Counselling, certified by University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

A prolific publicist, Dr. Poddar has authored hundred-odd pieces of nonnarrative literature in journals and books; edited and peer-reviewed by academic colleagues across the board in premier Law Schools and other institutions of India and abroad. He has published several edited books in diversified domains as coeditor; besides academic books as coauthor. Also, he has contributed his deliberations on diversified domains of Law and other social studies in several premier Law Schools and other institutions.
