The National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam follows the Education Rules contained in Part IV of the Bar Council of India Rules under the Advocates Act, 1961 as provided in the Schedules in so far as maintaining the standards of legal education is concerned and is striving for establishing and maintaining an Institution of Excellence.
The University follows the Semester System and offers the B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) Five-Year Integrated Course in which the Social Sciences subjects are integrated with the Law subjects in the first two years of study as prescribed under the Rules of the Bar Council of India. The University also offers the One-Year LL.M. with specialisations in different groups.
The Courses have been designed in a manner which includes intensive classroom teaching as well the participative method of teaching in the form of Seminars and Project Work. The faculty members meticulously maintain the records of classroom attendance as well as the records of performance in the regular and continuous evaluation process which is periodically communicated to the participating students and to their respective guardians.
The minimum standard of attendance as stipulated by the Academic Regulations, has to be maintained in each subject by the students in order to take the Semester End Examination as required under the Education Rules of the Bar Council of India prescribed from time to time.
