Centre for Law, Public Policy and Governance (CLPPG)

Established in October 1 of 2021, the Centre for Law, Public Policy and Governance is meant to function as inhouse research forum under the umbrella of National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam, with the following agenda:

  1. Capacity-building programmes
  2. Conduct of relevant academic events
  3. Cross-disciplinary policy research projects
  4. Academic publications, e.g., edited book, monograph series, etc.
  5. Last yet not least, running short-term courses on law and policy studies, governance, etc.

Recognizing the significance of fostering innovative thinking and encouraging informed policy-making, the Centre for Law, Public Policy and Governance (CLPPG), NLUJA, Assam , in collaboration with the Indian School of Public Policy, organised 'Vichaar' - a Policy Drafting Competition.The primary objective of Vichaar was to provide a platform for young minds to delve into the intricate realm of policy formulation. The competition aimed to nurture a culture of critical thinking, research, and creativity among participants, fostering a deeper understanding of the complexities involved in crafting effective and sustainable public policies, and encouraged participants from diverse academic backgrounds, including law, public policy, economics, and social sciences, to collaborate and bring forth comprehensive policy solutions.
