NLUJA, Assam organized an onsite training programme on Turnitin with AI and its New Upcoming Features on September 8, 2025, at the Digital Library, 2nd Floor, KRC Building. The sessions were conducted by Mr. Gautam Raval, Customer Success Manager, Turnitin India Pvt. Ltd.. Faculty members, research scholars, and students actively participated in the programme.

National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam celebrated its 14th Foundation Day with great enthusiasm and cultural vibrancy. The event was graced by the Hon’ble Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court and Hon’ble Chancellor of NLUJA, Assam, who attended the function as the Chief Guest. Shri Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta, IPS (Retd.), State Chief Information Commissioner, Assam, honoured the occasion as the Guest of Honour. The celebrations featured a rich display of cultural diversity, where students presented Bharatanatyam, Borgeet, a Group Song Medley, and a Group Dance showcasing the vibrant traditions of Assam and beyond — beginning with Sattriya, Bodo, Mishing, Tiwa performances and culminating with a spirited Bihu.

National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam, hosted a special lecture delivered by Shri Dama Seshadri Naidu, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India, and former Judge of the High Courts of Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, and Bombay. During the session, Shri Naidu shared his inspiring journey from being a lawyer to becoming a judge and then returning to the Bar. He urged students to move beyond the “Google illusion” and emphasized the importance of critical thinking and applying one’s own mind rather than excessively relying on technology. Shri Naidu also recommended valuable readings to motivate students and guide them in their personal and professional growth. The session was presided over by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ujjal Bhuyan, Judge, Supreme Court of India, making the occasion even more insightful and enriching for the students.

As part of Anti-Ragging Week, NSS Unit of NLUJA, Assam organised an interactive session by Dr. Kasturi Gakul, Assistant Professor of Law, on 14th August to sensitise students and strengthen awareness against ragging. An extempore competition was also conducted for 1st Year Students which aims to encourage quick thinking, articulate expression, and confidence in public speaking.

In commemoration of Padmashri Dr. S. R. Ranganathan, recognized as the Father of Library Science in India, the Knowledge Resource Centre, NLUJAA, celebrated National Librarians' Day on August 12, 2025.

The event, held at 2:00 PM, served as a tribute to Dr. Ranganathan's significant contributions to library, documentation, and information science. Dr. Kankana Baishya, Assistant Librarian highlighted his immense contribution. Prof. KVS Sarma, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, Mr. Gunajit RoyChoudhury (ACS), Registrar along with Faculty, students, and administrative staff all gathered to pay homage to his legacy.

Ms. Kajri Roy, Legal Advisor at BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) delivered a special lecture on the topic 'Introduction to Sports Law in India: Why it matters today?'. Ms. Roy discussed key regulatory frameworks, governance structures, dispute resolution mechanisms, and the growing significance of legal professionals in the sports ecosystem. Drawing from her extensive experience at BCCI, Ms. Roy also highlighted real-world challenges and landmark developments shaping sports law in the country. The Moot Court Committee of the Student Bar Council, National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam, organized the 4th Edition of VOX Anatolis National Moot Court Competition - 2025 from 25th to 27th April 2025. The final round of the competition was adjudicated by Hon'ble Mr. Justice Suman Shyam and Hon'ble Mr. Justice Kaushik Goswami. The team from Institute of Law, Nirma University, emerged as the Winners. The event witnessed remarkable participation from across the country and exemplified the spirit of advocacy, research, and legal acumen among aspiring law professionals.

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) and National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam, organized a Special Lecture under the Advocacy Programme in Assam as part of the State Resource Person (SRP) Scheme. National Commission for Women, New Delhi In collaboration with Centre for Gender Justice, National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam organised 'Second Round of the National Consultation on Cyber Laws Relating to Women'.

On 27th March 2025, a healthcare assistance camp was organized under the aegis of the National Service Scheme (NSS), NLUJAA, at Mother Old Age Home, Sijubari, Hatigaon. The objective of the camp was to promote basic health awareness and provide essential healthcare services to the elderly residents of the home. Blood pressure (BP) check-ups, sugar level tests, and blood sample collection were conducted for further analysis. Two doctors and nurses were present to offer consultations and address any health concerns. Additionally, a nutritious lunch was made available to the residents during the camp.

To commemorate the global Earth Hour, the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit, in collaboration with the Centre for Environmental Law, Advocacy & Research (CELAR) and the World Wide Fund (WWF), organized a Nature Walk on 22nd March 2025. The event took place on the Agyathuri Hill and aimed to foster environmental awareness, promote sustainable living, and encourage participants to reconnect with nature. The event featured educational talks on the importance of preserving natural habitats, with a focus on local flora and fauna. By encouraging direct interaction with nature, the Nature Walk aimed to inspire participants to adopt eco-friendly practices and deepen their understanding of the vital role of environmental conservation in sustaining life on Earth.

On 17th March 2025, the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of NLUJA took a pledge to observe Earth Hour, committing to be water-wise and switch off lights on 22nd March 2025, from 08:30 PM to 09:30 PM. This initiative, in collaboration with the World Wide Fund (WWF), aimed to raise awareness about the need for energy conservation and environmental sustainability. Esteemed faculty members were present to support and encourage students to participate. The event highlighted the significance of collective action in addressing global environmental challenges and promoting a more sustainable future for all.

A Poster Drive and Awareness Campaign was conducted by the Centre for Clinical Legal Education and Legal Aid Cell, NLUJAA. The campaign is part of our regular endeavors to inform the villagers living close to the university about the presence and functioning of the Legal Aid Clinic, so that they can visit the Clinic and discuss their legal problems.
