National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam (NLUJAA) Centre for Career Counselling and Capacity Building has been established to provide guidance in various aspects of law and its surrounding arenas with an academic and action- oriented focus on shaping a student’s career. We believe that excellence in work can be achieved through honing one’s skills and we are constantly working to assist students who face challenges in developing their skills. With new aspects of law and an increase in career opportunities emerging in the recent times, we recognize the importance to stay relevant for which we conduct activities which are essential to a student’s professional career. We understand the myriad choices that students have regarding their career preferences for which we conduct activities on various aspects of law and humanities. Our approach involves recognizing the requirements of a law student in order to help them maximize their potential.
Objective:
- To familiarize students with the ground reality of the legal system in India
- To provide a first-hand experience of various legal aspects
- To maximise a student’s potential in their field of interest
- To establish a support system which enhances the career prospectus of students
- To provide a platform for students to develop their soft skills
- To increase the acceptance rates of students in the field of their choice
- To make the journey of a law student to a law professional easier

Prof. (Dr.) V. K. Ahuja Vice-Chancellor NLUJA, Assam welcomed the guest and apprised the students of the various achievements of the resource person.

Jaswal, Vice-Chancellor SRM University Delhi-NCR, Sonepat, Haryana; Prof. (Dr.) Gauri Dutt Sharma, Vice-Chancellor, USTM, Meghalaya and Prof. (Dr.) V. K. Ahuja, Vice-Chancellor, NLUJA, Assam. The resource person for the training Sri Roushan Lal, (AJS), Judge, Motor Accident Claim Tribunal, Nagaon enlightened students on the topic.
The centre conducted its first meet for the academic year 2022-23. The orientation was headed by the Centre Convener, Prof. Dr. Amol Deo Chavhan. Sir extended a warm welcome to the newly inducted members of the Centre of Career Counselling and Capacity Building, National Law University and Judicial, Academy, Assam. The programme was attended by the members of the centre. The orientation session was held to decide upon the plan of action of the Centre for the academic year 2022-2023.
