Ms. Ishita Das has completed B.B.A. (Hons.), LL.B. (Hons.), specializing in Business Law, from National Law University, Jodhpur. Before joining the LL.M. programme at W.B. National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata, she has worked as Legal Consultant in Central Information Commission (New Delhi) and Technical Expert (Legal) in National Commission for Women (New Delhi). She has also worked as a Trade Policy Researcher in Oval Observer Foundation, a research organization headquartered in the UK.

Her area of specialization as regards the LL.M. was Corporate and Commercial Law. She was awarded the ‘Nani A. Palkhivala Memorial Gold Medal for standing First in order of merit at the LL.M. Examination’ along with 5 other gold medals for her academic performance. She was also awarded the ‘S. Gopal Krishnan Scholarship for Academic Excellence’ by W.B. NUJS. She has qualified the UGC-NET in 2018.

She has to her credit several publications in reputed national and international journals/books/newspapers. She has also presented research papers in several international and national conferences. As an avid mooter, she has successfully represented her alma mater at prestigious national and international moot court competitions such as The Surana and Surana Trial Advocacy Competition (Chandigarh, 2011) and The International Criminal Court Trial Competition (The Hague, Netherlands, 2013). Her areas of interest include International Trade Law, International Environmental Law, Business Law, Competition Law, and Cyber and IT Laws
